The sunny days are making a comeback! The sun is shining again for our greatest happiness.
But who says sun, says protection. And yes, it is essential to protect yourself from the sun's rays, especially during long meals on the terrace, extended moments of relaxation by the pool, etc.
For this, nothing better than a parasol. We help you choose the one best suited to your needs and desires.
What type of parasol?
In fact, there are several types of parasols to provide shade on your terrace, in your garden or by the pool.
The straight parasol, the classic. It is particularly well suited to be placed in the middle of an outdoor table but with the help of parasol feet you can also install it wherever you want in your garden or on your terrace. It is also possible to plant it directly in the sand on the beach.
Its canvas is round, square or rectangular on a pole which can be made of wood, aluminum or steel.
At Mobellia, we offer several models of straight parasol: round shape or square shape with an aluminum pole.
The round straight parasol is particularly suitable for small spaces, small tables and in particular round tables or small garden furniture. The square or rectangular parasol offers a larger area of shade for the same size and can therefore easily be installed against a facade and is also suitable for large tables.
The tilting parasol is quite similar to the upright parasol with the difference that its pole is removable for quick and easy orientation depending on the movement of the sun.
The offset parasol, the most sophisticated of all, as its name suggests, is not installed in the middle of a table but moves to the side. Tiltable and adjustable, it allows you to perfectly juggle the orientation of the sun while allowing you to take full advantage of the space on the ground without being hampered by the base of the parasol. In general, the structure is made of aluminum to best resist bad weather.
Our offset parasols allow 360° rotation around the pole and the crank makes opening and closing easier and allows you to adjust the height to your liking.
The offset parasol offers a very large shaded area and adapts very easily depending on the movement of the sun. It will protect large tables as well as large garden furniture.
What material?
It is essential to inform yourself about the composition of the fabric of your parasol to ensure protection against the sun's rays and resistance over time.
Most often, canvases are made of polyester or acrylic.
Polyester is more economical while being particularly resistant to sun and bad weather, provided of course that it has been treated.
The highest quality canvases generally have a weight between 200 and 300g/m² and the parasols whose canvas is anti-UV 50+ treated offer optimal protection.
As for the colors of the canvas, we recommend that you avoid bright colors. Indeed, despite a treated fabric, they will tend to fade more quickly in the sun.
As for the mast, it can be made of steel but to avoid rust it will be necessary to ensure that it is epoxy treated.
Wood is a very aesthetic material but requires maintenance at least once a year.
Aluminum is light, rust-proof and particularly resistant.
All Mobellia parasols are made of aluminum.
What opening system?
The pusher system, the most classic, is often used on straight parasols. This mechanism is suitable when the structure and the canvas are light.
The crank is particularly ergonomic and easy to use because it requires almost no effort. This system is particularly useful on large parasols.
Finally, the pulley system is also very effective, although less aesthetic than the crank and is easily repairable in the event of a problem.
Which parasol bases?
Plastic feet, to be filled with water or sand, are an economical option and are suitable for smaller parasols.
The feet in cast iron, stone or concrete will be particularly suitable for the most imposing models.
The cross legs are completed with slabs.
What resistance to wind?
Finally, it is important to look at wind resistance, depending on where you live, whether you are exposed to the wind or not.
Our parasols are designed to withstand winds of up to 25 km/h. Beyond this limit, we recommend that you close your parasol or use ropes or straps to attach the parasol to fixed points on the ground or to solid objects.
To conclude, we recommend that you prioritize adaptability to your outdoor spaces, ease of use and the quality of the materials used.
